Farm Stay Accommodation Cape Town South Africa

Mazwil Retreat is our refuge from the frantic pace of modern life in Cape Town, South Africa. The retreat is our shelter where mom and dad can stroll hand in hand and watch the kids playing in the dam, exploring the bush or relaxing on the deck next to the pool with a book.

The retreat, an easy 180km from Cape Town between Ashton and Swellendam, is within easy reach on a Friday afternoon.
Awake on Saturday morning to bird song, sit on the deck sipping steaming coffee while watching the mist soaring up against the towering Langeberg mountains. Amble down to the lapa and watch the reflections in the dam, broken only by Swallows skimming over the surface for a sip of the pure mountain water.

Ease into the car and head off to an undiscovered wine estate. Let the estate owner tell you about his wine while you dine on their fine fare.
Back home, tummy's full, put your feet up on the deck. Hat over your eyes, relax while you listen to the water cascading into the pool and the kids playing in he distance.

Strike a match an light the braai, excellent steak and wors from the local butcher. Friends and family around the fire, good wine, good food and a really great time.
The stars are out, turn down the lights and let the Milky Way astound you.

Sunday, the day of rest! Force yourself out of bed, a hearty breakfast after a short stroll around the dam watching for the shy Rheebok or the spectacular Jackal Buzzard.
A short drive to Montague or Swellendam for lunch perhaps or a quiet snooze on a lilo in the dam. Broken ubruptly by the kids tipping you over!!!
Rinse off in the pool, a crisp G&T, bags in the car and back home to Cape Town for an early Sunday night dinner.
